Research that be presented here explain that astaxanthin can useful as part of a antioxidant therapy to reduce hypertension.

The result of research before that participate a carotenoid composition has been used to handle hypertension or high blood pressure. But Hussein et al., (2005a) publish the first research that participate astaxanthin with mouse spontaneous hypertension and stroke trend. This research investigate astaxanthin effect on blood pressure of aorta vessel which related with endothelium and nitrate oxide (NO) to explain mecanisms and response. Arterial blood pressure on mouse hypertension decrease approximately 10% when they are given astaxanthin 50 mg/kg/day for two weeks along.
